Location
The Cabin lies to the south of the village of Chideock, within easy reach of open
countryside, a ten minute walk from the coast of Seatown (The World
Heritage Coast). It's a five minute walk to local amenities, and only ten minutes to the
beach
Chideock is an attractive village, the centre of which is principally comprised of houses and stone-built thatched cottages. There is a range of local amenities, including churches, post office/general stores/newsagents, public houses and restaurants.
The immediate locality is designated as one of outstanding natural beauty, and much of the surrounding countryside is either owned or managed by the National Trust.
The attractive coast at Seatown is a pleasant ten-minute walk away. Seatown not only has a beach, but beautiful clifftop walks and public house The Anchor, where you can have lunch.
The market town of Bridport & West Bay is some three miles to the east, while the coastal resort of Lyme Regis is seven miles to the west and Charmouth is five miles to the west.
Travel information
Road: Chideock is on the A35 about two and a half miles west from Bridport.
Rail: from London Waterloo to Axminster & Dorchester, then take the No 31 bus to Chideock Bridge. It's just a short walk to Duck Street and The Cabin.
Buses: There's a regular bus service to Bridport and Lyme Regis (31 and X53).
